On Tuesday, June 23, President Draupardi Murmu honored Bollywood playback singer Alka Yagnik with Padma Bhushan. While going on the stage to receive this honour, the 60 year old singer was seen taking the help of the attendant. She was also looking very weak. After its video went viral, many fans expressed concern about his health.
Now Alka Yagnik has shared a note on social media and expressed her gratitude on receiving Padma Bhushan for her contribution to music. Along with this, he also talked about his health related problems.
Alka Yagnik talked about her health in the post
In her note, Alka Yagnik told about her health-related problems for the last two years. She wrote, “For the last two years, I have been away from limelight and public appearances and have not shared much about my life’s journey. Many of you knew that I was going through health-related difficulties and during this time, your love, prayers, messages and unwavering support remained with me at every step.”
Alka Yagnik expressed gratitude
Alka further wrote, “Today, as I step forward to receive the prestigious Padma Bhushan, one of the country’s highest civilian honours, my heart is filled with gratitude. This honor makes me feel very humble, and even though it has my name on it, it equally belongs to all those listeners who have given my voice a place in their lives, taken my songs to many generations and supported me in both good and difficult times.”

‘I am slowly making a comeback.
Alka Yagnik wrote, “This moment is especially meaningful because it is not only a recognition of my work, but also a reminder of the strength that comes from love, hope and courage. I am slowly making a comeback and wanted to be here today, not only for myself, but also for all of you who have been a part of this journey.”
She further said, “I would like to thank the Honorable President of India, Smt. Draupadi Murmu, the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Government of India for this special honor. I accept it with great humility and respect. Thank you for your love, kindness, prayers and trust in me for so many years. I cherish all these things with me. Today I have not only received an award, but also the love of millions of people. Thank you, Alka, for being a part of my journey.
Alka Yagnik’s health problem
Let us tell you that Alka Yagnik is suffering from the problem of ‘sensorineural hearing loss’ (reduced ability to hear) due to viral attack. He had told about this publicly for the first time in 2024. In an interview given to NDTV a few months ago, the singer admitted that she has not fully recovered yet and is still facing problems. This situation has also affected his work. Alka had said in the interview, “Composers sometimes contact me. But I am not able to work.”
