There is mourning in the house of great Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar. His elder brother Shahid Akhtar has said goodbye to this world and Shoaib confirmed this sad news through a post on social media. Many well-known personalities and former cricketers of Pakistan have expressed regret over the demise of Shahid Akhtar.
Shoaib Akhtar wrote on social media, “I am very sad to inform that my elder brother Shahid Akhtar has gone to Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala.” Shahid was buried in H-8 cemetery in Islamabad. Let us tell you that a prayer meeting was organized to pay tribute to Shahid, in which well-known personalities from Pakistan’s politics and sports world participated.
Let us remind you that Shoaib Akhtar’s mother passed away about 5 years ago and now another member of his family in the form of Shahid has left this world. If reports are to be believed in Pakistani media, Shahid Akhtar died due to lung failure.

Talking about Shoaib Akhtar, he retired from cricket after the 2011 ODI World Cup. After that he is often seen doing cricket analysis and commentary on Pakistani podcasts and channels. He also has a YouTube channel, on which he keeps sharing his views from time to time.
The record of throwing the fastest ball in the history of cricket is still in the name of Shoaib Akhtar. In his international career, he played 224 matches and took 444 wickets. He is the seventh highest wicket taker for Pakistan in international cricket.
