Reacting to Mani Shankar Aiyar’s statement, Congress leader Rashid Alvi said, “It is true that if India was not divided and a unbroken India, the situation would have been completely different today. Who is spreading terrorism here? Pakistan is spreading. If Pakistan is not formed, it would not have been terrorism. It was very unfortunate that in which circumstances millions of people were divided and Pakistan was killed, in which situations were made, in which Pakistan was divided,”
He said, “Now the time has changed. Today, Pakistan and Bangladesh are both and we have to face the current situation firmly. The partition was wrong, but now we cannot tolerate that someone enters our house and spread terror. Pakistan attacks again and again. For this it is the responsibility of the Government of India to keep the border completely safe.”
He further said, “When our Prime Minister was the Chief Minister, he also raised questions that if the infiltration is happening then it is the failure of the central government. Pakistan should teach a lesson, but the current government should also strengthen the border by fulfilling its responsibility.”
Mani Shankar Iyer said this in his statement
Senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar said on Saturday that he is surprised to think whether the sad incident of Pahalgam is the result of the old questions related to the partition of the country. Speaking at the release program of a book in Delhi, Iyer said that even at that time there was a question in front of the country and even today the same question is, are Muslims in India accepted, loved and honored?
He said, “At that time many people tried to stop the partition, but disagreeing with Gandhiji, Pandit Nehru, Jinnah and Jinnah had differences between many Muslims in India’s national identity and original thinking about his civilization, which led to divided.” Iyer further said, “In today’s India, the question is, does Muslim feel that he is being adopted? Is he getting love and respect? I will not answer this, you ask any Muslim, you will get the answer.”
