Iran’s new warning regarding Hormuz
According to Iran’s state media (IRIB), these ships tried to pass through the Strait of Hormuz without coordinating with Iranian authorities, after which the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) intervened and stopped them. The Iranian Navy issued a warning to all ships present in the Gulf and the maritime area of Oman. It said that any new or alternative sea route without Iran’s consent is unacceptable.
Iran’s ‘Gulf Waters Management Administration’ has separately warned that no ship will pass anywhere without permission other than the route decided by Tehran. If any other route is taken without permission instead of the fixed routes, the safety of the ship may be at risk. Such ships may also be prohibited from providing navigation services in future. He clearly said that if any consequences occur due to violation of rules, the entire responsibility for it will be on the owners, operators and commanders of the ship.
Iran said that it has every right to control the ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has also warned the Gulf countries not to support America. This statement of Tehran has made it clear how weak is the agreement with America to end the war.
What is the main reason for the dispute?
America and 6 Gulf countries had jointly issued a joint statement. In this, he had rejected Iran’s claim, in which Tehran had said that it can collect tax from the ships passing through this sea route. Iran has called this statement provocative and irresponsible.
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi posted on Twitter, “Until Iran’s role is acknowledged, the safe movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz cannot be guaranteed.” Amidst this tension, on June 26, crude oil prices fell by more than 3 percent. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, concluding his tour of Gulf countries, said that if Iran tried to stop or intimidate ships, it would become a big problem.
