Abhishek has become the first cricketer in the world to complete a half-century in 20 or less balls five times in international T20 cricket. In the first T20 match, Abhishek was out after scoring 50 runs. This is the 11th half-century of his T20 career.

The record of scoring the fastest fifty in T20 International cricket for India has been in the name of Yuvraj Singh for the last 19 years. Yuvraj had scored a fifty in 12 balls against England in the 2007 T20 World Cup.
