Britain’s kings pay taxes
In fact, recently a UK news agency has revealed that Britain’s King Charles III has paid taxes worth more than 30 million pounds (39.6 million dollars in US dollars and Rs 351 crore in Indian rupees) since assuming the throne in September 2022. This information has been revealed for the first time by Buckingham Palace.

Personal information has come to light for the first time
This information has been made public by Buckingham Palace to increase the transparency of the financial arrangements of the royal family. King Charles’s eldest son and heir Prince William has also shared his tax information for the first time. Since becoming the Prince of Wales, he has paid taxes and capital gains tax of more than 20 million pounds (26.4 million dollars in US dollars and 234 crore rupees in terms of Indian rupees).

So much tax paid in three years
According to the data revealed, in the financial year 2023-24, King Charles paid 11.7 million pounds (15.44 million dollars in US dollar and Rs 136.89 crore in Indian rupee) and 12.9 million pounds in 2024-25 (17.03 million dollars in US dollar and 150.93 crore rupees in Indian rupee).

At the same time, Prince William has deposited tax of 8.34 million pounds in 2023-24 (11.01 million dollars in US dollars and Rs 97.58 crore in Indian rupees) and 7.76 million pounds in 2024-25 (10.24 million dollars in US dollars and Rs 90.79 crores in Indian rupees).

It is not necessary to pay taxes to the king
Let us tell you that according to British law, it is not mandatory for the king to pay income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax. However, since 1993, the royal family has been paying income tax and capital gains tax voluntarily. This decision was taken at that time after increasing public pressure and questions raised regarding royal finances.
