If you are dreaming of working in police then this news is very special for you. There is recruitment for the post of Company Commander in Home Guard Service Cadre in Bihar. All male, female and third gender candidates can apply for this recruitment. The application process will be completely online and is going to start from June 30, 2026. Candidates will be able to apply for this recruitment till 30 July 2026.

A total of 65 posts will be filled in this recruitment notification. Of these, 26 posts are reserved for General Category, 10 for Scheduled Caste, 1 for Scheduled Tribe, 12 for Extremely Backward Class, 7 for Backward Class, 7 for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and 2 for Backward Class women. Apart from this, women candidates of Bihar will get 35 percent horizontal reservation.

Candidates wishing to apply for this recruitment will have to pay the application fee. The application fee for this recruitment has been kept at Rs 100 for all categories of candidates. Fees can be paid through online mode only.

Who can apply?

The applying candidate must have a graduation degree from a recognized university. Degree must be completed by August 1, 2025. Talking about the age limit, the maximum age for general male candidates has been fixed at 37 years, for general female and BC/EBC category at 40 years and for SC/ST and third gender candidates the maximum age has been fixed at 42 years. As per the rules of Bihar Government, some other categories will also get age relaxation.

Physical standards will also be taken into account in recruitment. The minimum height of men belonging to General and BC category should be 165 cm and that of men belonging to EBC, SC and ST category should be 160 cm. For female candidates, the minimum height has been fixed at 155 centimeters and weight at least 48 kilograms. Physical standards for third gender candidates will remain the same as for backward classes.

This is how the selection will be done

The selection process will be completed in four phases. First of all there will be a preliminary written examination, in which 100 MCQs will be asked from General Knowledge and Current Affairs. After this there will be the main examination, in which questions will come from many subjects including General Hindi and General Studies. Merit will be prepared on the basis of marks of second paper of main examination. There will also be negative marking of 0.2 marks for each wrong answer in both the written examinations.

Candidates successful in the written examination will have to appear in Physical Efficiency Test (PET). There will be tests like race, high jump, long jump and shot put. PET will be qualifying only, its marks will not be added to the final merit. After this, final appointment will be made after completion of medical test, character verification and other necessary investigations.
