This time many major changes have been made in the new book of NCERT Class 9. Now students will read about SIR related to the election process. At the same time, some explanations related to socialism, secularism and democracy already included in the book will not be seen the same in the new book. The new system has been added to these books. Under which children can understand the country’s constitution and democratic system in a new way. Discussion regarding these changes is intensifying in both education and politics.
Changed the way of explaining the Constitution
In this new book the Constitution has been explained not in the old way but in a new way. In this, more attention has been paid to how the Constitution was made, what work the Constituent Assembly did and how the democratic institutions of the country work. Besides, topics like equality, freedom, rights and responsibilities have also been included. In earlier books, the Preamble of the Constitution was taught in detail. And the meaning of the words written in it was also explained. But the introduction has not been included directly in the new book. Along with this, words like socialism and secularism have also not been presented as before.
Emergency joined class 9 for the first time
For the first time in this book of class 9, the Emergency of 1975 has also been included, in which it was told that at that time the democratic system of the country was affected and many decisions were discussed. It has been kept as an example to explain the challenges related to democracy.

What is SIR and why was it added to the book?
In this new book, along with the responsibilities of the Election Commission, Special Intensive Revision i.e. SIR has also been explained. In the book, it has been explained how the process of updating and keeping the voter list correct is done. Now instead of four subjects, one book has been prepared, this time a book has been made by combining History, Geography, Political Science and Economics. Its objective is said to be to give the students a connected understanding instead of separate subjects.
What is the procedure of Education Minister?
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that students should also be aware of the country’s history and its connection with democracy. He says that by reading such topics, we will understand better about the country in the upcoming videos.
