In view of the scorching heat and continuously rising temperature in Patna, the district administration has taken an important decision keeping in mind the safety of the students. According to the order of the District Magistrate of Patna, all government and private schools up to class 8 have been ordered to be closed till June 30. That means schools up to 8th will remain closed till June 30 due to the scorching heat. This decision has been taken especially with the aim of protecting children from heat stroke, dehydration and health problems caused by extreme heat.
Now schools up to 8th will remain closed till 30th June
According to the order issued, schools were earlier expected to open from June 29 after the end of summer vacation, but in view of the severe weather conditions, it has been postponed. The administration has clarified that this ban will be applicable only on educational activities and all schools have been instructed to ensure complete compliance with the order.
The decision was taken so that the health of children is not adversely affected.
According to the Meteorological Department, for the last few days the temperature in Patna and surrounding areas is being recorded much higher than normal. Due to hot winds during the day, it is expected to have a negative impact on the health of children. For this reason, the administration has taken this step as a precautionary measure so that any kind of health emergency can be avoided.

Studies will continue from 9th to 12th
The district administration has made it clear in the order that all school managements will have to reschedule their educational activities as per the new schedule. This rule will be applicable from 22 June 2026 to 30 June 2026. During this period, pre-schools will also remain completely closed. However, studies from classes 9 to 12 will continue, but it has been allowed to run only till 11 am. Schools have also been instructed to follow all necessary precautions keeping in mind the safety of children and make complete arrangements to protect them from heat.
