Causes of Milky Urine: Health experts often say that human urine can indicate many diseases occurring in the body. The color of urine can tell whether your body is completely healthy or fighting some disease. In such a situation, if the color of your urine suddenly starts appearing milky or white, then it should not be ignored. Let us know why this happens and what diseases it can be a sign of.

What is the problem?

If the color of urine appears white or milky instead of normal yellow as soon as you wake up in the morning, then it should not be taken lightly. Many people ignore it considering it to be a minor change, but in some cases it can be a sign of a serious problem occurring inside the body. Doctors call this condition chyluria, in which a special kind of milky fluid starts getting mixed with urine.

What happens like this?

According to a report by Fortis Healthcare, after digesting the fat present in the food, our body produces a white colored liquid, which is called chyle. It normally reaches the blood through the lymphatic system. But when due to some reason there is blockage or damage in the lymphatic vessels, this liquid can get mixed in the urinary tract. Due to this, the color of urine starts appearing milky white.

The biggest sign of milky urine is its unusual white color. In many people, this problem appears more after eating oily or fatty food. Some patients may also feel slight pain in the lower back. If there is blood with urine, difficulty in urinating or this happens repeatedly, then you should get yourself checked by a doctor without any delay.

What is the reason behind this?

According to experts, one of the main reasons for this in many tropical countries including India could be filariasis infection. Parasites that reach the body through mosquito bites damage the lymphatic vessels. Due to this, blockage occurs in them and when the pressure increases, mucus starts getting mixed in the urine. However, infection is not the cause in every case.

Problems can also occur due to these reasons

In some people, this problem may also occur due to injury to the abdominal or pelvic region, tumor, congenital disorder of the lymphatic system or other diseases. Therefore, the cause cannot be determined just by looking at the symptoms. To know the exact reason, a doctor’s examination is necessary. To confirm this problem, doctors first recommend getting a urine test done. If needed, ultrasound, CT scan, MRI or other tests can also be done to find out from where the lymph fluid is leaking. Further treatment is decided on the basis of the investigation report.
