According to the latest update of India Meteorological Department (IMD), south-west monsoon will be active in most of the states of the country on Monday (June 29). Apart from North East, there will be light to moderate rain in many states of Eastern India, Central India and West Coast, while there are chances of heavy rain at many places. Apart from these, monsoon activities have started increasing in North-West India also.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan today. Apart from this, an alert has been issued regarding heavy rain in Uttarakhand today. There is a possibility of heavy rain in many areas of Madhya Pradesh today. Heavy rains along with strong winds are expected in Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha also.
According to the Meteorological Department, rain activities are expected to increase in many parts of Rajasthan from next week. There are chances of increase in rain activities in the first week of July. During this period, there may be light to moderate rain in some parts of Bikaner, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer and Kota, Udaipur divisions. Light to moderate rain was seen in many areas of the state on Sunday.
Heavy rain from Bihar to Sikkim
According to IMD, monsoon is likely to be most active in Eastern and North-Eastern India today. There are chances of heavy rain in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and Sikkim. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in some areas of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam-Meghalaya. There is also a possibility of thunder and lightning in these states.
Condition of Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Kerala
Talking about South and West India, apart from Goa, there will be rain in many areas of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. There may be heavy rain at many places in Central Maharashtra. Strong winds along with thunderstorms are expected in Kerala, Coastal Karnataka and Telangana.
