According to reports, Daisy Tovar was staying at Hotel Eduards along with other members of Venezuelan baseball team ‘La Guerra Delfinas’ and their families. On June 24, two powerful earthquakes of magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 occurred in Venezuela. During this time, this tragic accident happened, in which Daisy died.

Following this tragic incident, the Wooster Red Sox issued an official statement expressing condolences. “We are deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing of Daisy Tovar de Hernandez, wife of former PawSox (2018) and Red Sox (2019) player Gorky Hernandez,” the team said.
