Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was made a part of Team India for the 2-match T20 series played on the Ireland tour, but he did not get a chance to debut. Speaking to the media before the match, Shreyas Iyer said, “Look, you don’t know what is going to happen. Right now our hands are also tied as to what we are going to do, because it is very private. We talk about it within the team. We cannot tell everyone what combination we will go with and let the opposing team know what is going to happen.”
Further praising Vaibhav, Shreyas said, “Obviously he is very brilliant. Whenever he gets a chance to play, he will obviously do well.”
