India vs England T20 Series: The first match of the T20 series between India and England will be played on 1 July. Earlier, England captain Harry Brook made it clear that his team will take the field against Vaibhav Suryavanshi with full preparation. However, it is not yet decided whether the young batsman will get a chance to debut in the first match or not. Even on the Ireland tour, he was not able to be a part of the playing eleven in the entire series.
England has prepared a special plan for Vaibhav
Before the match, Harry Brook told that the England team has made a lot of preparations for Vaibhav Suryavanshi. “A lot of work has been done behind the scenes to help us understand how to prevent them from playing their best cricket,” he said. Brook indicated that his team is preparing its strategy for both the situations of Vaibhav playing and not playing.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi is in great form
Vaibhav Suryavanshi is running in excellent rhythm at the moment. In the final of the ODI tri-series between India A and Sri Lanka A, he played an explosive inning of 94 runs in just 29 balls. His performance in IPL 2026 was also excellent. Even though Rajasthan Royals could not progress beyond Qualifier-2, Vaibhav won many individual awards throughout the season.
Will also keep an eye on the opening combination
Sanju Samson, who scored three consecutive half-centuries in the T20 World Cup 2026, did not appear to be in rhythm during the Ireland tour. In the first match, he could not play a big innings, while in the second match, he became the victim of a golden duck on the very first ball. Both times he was dismissed by left arm fast bowler Jai Mundra. In such a situation, England can use Luke Wood or, if fit, Sam Curran in the first overs, so that pressure can be put on Sanju Samson. On the other hand, Abhishek Sharma’s record against England has been good. However, he too was out on a golden duck in the second T20 against Ireland. In the first match, he played a quick inning of 49 runs in 20 balls.

Indian captain Shreyas Iyer has not given any indication regarding the opening pair at present. However, it is believed that Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s international debut is almost certain during the England tour. Now it will be interesting to see when he gets his first chance.
