The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched the Parenting Calendar for the new academic session 2026-27. The objective of this initiative is not just limited to the education of children, but also to strengthen their mental, social and emotional development. The Board believes that when schools and families work together for children, their confidence increases and the learning experience improves.
According to CBSE, the Parenting Calendar was started in the session 2025-26. During that time, this initiative received good support from schools, teachers and parents. Keeping this feedback in mind, this time many new changes have been made in the calendar, so that it can be made more useful.
There will be special focus on the development of children
Many such activities have been included in the new Parenting Calendar, in which parents will have active participation. The aim of these activities is to improve children’s behaviour, mental health, self-confidence and social skills along with their studies. The board wants parents to be a part of their children’s learning process throughout the year, not just at the time of exams or results.

Updated according to new needs
This time, topics like preparing oneself according to the changing education environment have also been included in the calendar. Apart from this, emphasis has also been laid on understanding the needs of children with different abilities and providing them better support. It has also been advised to organize workshops and awareness programs for parents, so that they can understand the needs of children better.
This appeal was made to schools
CBSE has asked all its affiliated schools to implement the Parenting Calendar regularly and organize the activities mentioned in it during the entire academic session. The Board says that this will strengthen the communication between the school and the parents and the children will get a positive and supportive environment for studies. The Board also believes that in today’s time, children are facing many challenges apart from studies. In such a situation, if family and school work together, children can get better support at every level.
