Flight Tickets: If you are planning a trip abroad in a few days, then there is a very good news for you. Because Air India on Thursday has reduced the fuel surcharge on some of its international flights. This has brought some relief to those traveling abroad. Passengers making travel plans after these changed new rates will get a lot of benefits.
What is the whole matter?
In fact, recently the prices of crude oil have been reduced in the international market. After which the prices of ATF i.e. Aviation Turbine Fuel have also declined. Only after this, Air India also decided to reduce the fuel surcharge. According to the new rates, fuel surcharge on flights to North America and Australia has been reduced from $280 to $200. At the same time, for flights going to Europe, this fee has been reduced from $205 to $125.

Other airlines are also planning
Sources associated with the aviation industry told in a conversation with NDTV Profit that all other airlines are also considering reducing the fuel surcharge. A decision in this matter can be taken by the end of the second quarter or the beginning of the third quarter. However, airlines believe that although international jet fuel prices have decreased recently, they are still higher than the old average level. Therefore, companies want to see whether this fall in prices continues for a long time or not.
How will passengers benefit?
Air tickets can become cheaper due to reduced fuel surcharge, such that fuel surcharge is a part of the total price of the ticket. When the airline reduces it, passengers have to pay less for the ticket. In such a situation, people traveling abroad can get a lot of relief from this. However, reduction in fuel surcharge does not at all mean that tickets have become cheaper forever. Because the final price of the ticket is decided according to the base fare, airport charge, tax, user development fee (UDF) and other charges.
