LPG Cylinder Price News: A statement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the price of domestic LPG cylinder has become a topic of discussion today. He gave this statement in Balotra, Rajasthan. PM Modi said that during the fuel crisis, the price of domestic LPG cylinder could have gone up to Rs 2,000, but the government’s efforts did not allow this to happen and gave great relief to the public from inflation.
While addressing the public meeting, PM Modi said, “Big countries are facing fuel shortage today. But India’s efforts have outweighed this crisis. India took right decisions at every level. Only when the crisis was assessed accurately in time, an effective strategy was made and India’s resources were used in a balanced manner, India was able to emerge from the crisis.
There was going to be an outcry in the country – PM Modi
PM Modi said, “About 60 percent of our LPG needs were imported from other countries and out of this, 90 percent of the LPG was coming from the Gulf countries and was coming through me and suddenly the war situation almost stopped that supply. You can imagine how big an outcry was going to happen in our country. But as soon as the crisis started, the government focused on the capacity of the refineries. Instead of producing gas for industrial purposes, the refineries were asked to produce cooking gas (LPG) and within seven days the production of LPG increased.

PM Modi said that earlier the production of 35,000 metric tons of LPG in the country increased to 54,000 metric tons during the crisis. Refineries which had never produced LPG before have also been configured for this. The entire load of LPG demand should not fall on LPG.” He further said, ”A campaign was launched to increase PNG connections i.e. piped LPG connections. In a very short time, India has connected more than 11 lakh houses with PNG gas connections.
The price of cylinder would go up to Rs 2000 – PM Modi
The PM said, “On the other hand, domestic consumers were not allowed to bear much burden.” Under the circumstances, the price of a domestic gas cylinder could go up to Rs 2000. Big market experts were making the same assessment, but domestic LPG cylinders are still being offered at low prices here. Two days ago, the government has also made a huge cut in the prices of commercial gas. This shows how sensitively our government is working.
Regarding the prices of petrol and diesel, PM Modi said, “The crisis on diesel and petrol due to the war was also very big. There are no big oil wells in our country. When this crisis escalated, crude oil prices rose from $70 per barrel to $120 per barrel. Import routes were also closed. In many countries of the world, the prices of diesel petrol increased by 40 to 50%. In many countries, diesel and petrol started becoming available on quota basis. Between April and June alone, companies had to bear losses of more than Rs 75,000 crore in diesel petrol alone.

Government reduced excise duty on petrol- PM Modi
PM Modi said that the government also reduced the excise duty on petrol by Rs 10 per liter and did not allow too much burden to fall on the public. During the war itself, India started importing fuel from more than 40 countries. India gave a clear message to the world that for us the national interest and the interest of the citizens of the nation is paramount.
