Thanks to fast bowler Gurnoor Brar’s 10 wickets and Sai Sudarshan’s brilliant century, India A has defeated Sri Lanka A by 10 wickets in the second unofficial test. Team India completely dominated the Sri Lankan team in this match. The Indian team needed only 33 runs to win in the fourth innings. Team India scored 36 runs without any loss and won the match by 10 wickets. Gurnoor Brar took 4 wickets in the first innings and 6 wickets in the second innings.
Talking about the match, India A won the toss and chose to bowl. Sri Lanka A, who came to bat first, scored 366 runs with the help of captain Sahan Arachige’s 127 runs. For India, Gurnoor Brar and Saransh Jain took 4-4 wickets. Whereas Yash Thakur got 2 wickets.
The Indian team took a lead of 177 runs over the Sri Lankan team by scoring 543 runs in the first innings with the help of Sai Sudarshan’s 168 runs, Devdutt Padikal’s 94 runs, Saransh Jain’s 70 runs and captain Dhruv Jurel’s 53 runs. Keshar Nuwantha took 5 wickets for Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka’s second innings was reduced to 209 runs. Ashen Bandara played the highest innings of 87 runs. For India, Gurnoor Brar took 6 wickets, Saransh Jain took 2, while Aaqib Nabi and Yash Thakur got 1 wicket each.
The target of 33 runs to win was achieved by the Indian A team by scoring 36 runs without loss in 6.2 overs and won the match by 10 wickets. With this victory, the Indian team has won the series. The first test of the series was a draw.
India’s main team will also tour Sri Lanka for a two-match Test series in August. Players like Dhruv Jurel, Sai Sudarshan and Gurnoor Brar are likely to be included in the senior team. In such a situation, the experience gained from the series against Sri Lanka A will prove helpful for Team India (Senior).
