Aakash Chopra On IND vs ENG 2nd T20I: The second match of the 5-match T20 series being played between India and England was played in Manchester last Saturday (04 July). England won the match by 4 wickets. India came close to winning the match and lost. Former Indian player and famous commentator Aakash Chopra told what was the real reason for India’s defeat, which was also accepted by captain Shreyas Iyer himself.
While talking on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra mentioned India’s mistake in the second T20. He said that the match had ended with the overs of Arshdeep Singh and Ravi Bishnoi. 27 and 29 runs came in both the overs. Akash said that the match had ended there because you did not have 225 runs to defend.
With this he talked about the 16th and 17th overs. Compared the 16th and 17th overs of India and England. While England spent only 9 runs in these 2 overs, India conceded 39 runs, which included Ravi Bishnoi’s 29 runs in the 17th over. Bishnoi bowled 2 back foot no balls in this over.
Shreyas Iyer also admitted his mistake, he made a loss in the 17th over.
Iyer also admitted that the 17th over was costly for the team. However, Iyer did not mention this openly. He told how the match slipped out of hand after the 15th over.
Iyer said, “I know where everything went wrong, but I don’t want to take the name of any player. The match slipped out of our hands after the 15th over. After one no ball, I thought Ravi would make a comeback, but then the match turned in the 17th over. We have to learn from this.”
Team India, captained by Shreyas Iyer, has to play the next i.e. third match of the T20 series on 7th July. This match will be played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
