The Middle East, which has been the center of geopolitics for the last four months, is on one side immersed in mourning. Iran is preparing to bid farewell to its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, while under pressure from America, many countries have kept distance from Khamenei’s funeral. In a way, this is being considered as a diplomatic campaign.

Experts are watching this diplomatic move of America from many angles. There are at least 13 such countries, which have distanced themselves from this mourning of Iran, or have reduced their delegation.

ANI quoted Iran’s Tasnim news agency as saying that a source has claimed that America has launched a diplomatic campaign to stop foreign involvement.

Many countries have attended Khamenei’s funeral
Delegations from many countries have reached this program going on at Imam Khomeini Grand Mosque in Tehran. This program started on Saturday, which will now continue till July 9. This funeral will end after Khamenei is laid to rest in his hometown Mashhad.

US Foreign Minister has issued instructions
It has been claimed that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued secret instructions in this matter to US embassies and diplomatic missions on June 26. Its purpose includes stopping the host countries. The report said that friendly relations have been cited to prevent the participation of host countries.

Two Arab diplomats alleged that America has talked about stopping development cooperation in many African countries. Apart from these, Rubio himself has personally discussed in five Arab countries.

Which countries are under pressure from America?
The 13 countries on which claims have been made include three in Europe, five in Africa, two Arab countries in the Persian Gulf and two in Asia. These countries either stayed away from the ceremony, or sent their delegations less. Ayatollah Khamenei was killed in a joint attack by America and Israel on 28 February. Since then, his son Mojtaba Khamenei is holding the position of Supreme Leader of Iran.
