Monsoon is progressing slowly in Uttar Pradesh. Rain was seen in many parts of the state on Sunday, which brought some relief to the people from the humid and sticky heat. Even today the Meteorological Department has warned of rain and lightning in 58 districts of the state. The pace of monsoon will increase further in the coming days.
Even after the entry of monsoon in UP, people are yearning for heavy rains. At most places, only light rains are occurring, due to which people are having to endure the scorching sun and humid heat. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain today, Monday, July 6. During this period, there will be rain and thundershowers in Agra, Lucknow, Varanasi and Prayagraj.
Chances of rain from Noida to Lucknow
It is partly cloudy in the capital Lucknow since morning. There may be drizzle in some areas after noon. There are chances of rain today in Ayodhya, Varanasi and Prayagraj and surrounding areas also. Monsoon activities will continue in Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut today, there will be light to moderate rain at some places. Monsoon will increase on 7th and 8th July and heavy rains will start in the state from 9th July.

Rain alert in 58 districts of UP
Today in Uttar Pradesh, there will be rain and thundershowers at some places in Agra, Mathura, Hathras, Aligarh, Firozabad, Etawah, Jalaun, Jhansi, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Banda, Lalitpur, Chitrakoot, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit. Whereas in Purvanchal, there are chances of heavy rain in Mirzapur, Chandauli and Sonbhadra.
Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Baghpat, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Etah, Mainpuri, Kannauj, Auraiya, Kanpur, Unnao, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Fatehpur, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Amethi, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Sultanpur, Jaunpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau, Yellow alert has been given for light rain at one or two places in Ballia, Deoria, Ghazipur and Sant Ravidas Nagar today.
Know when it will rain heavily
Monsoon activities will further intensify in the state from July 9. After which good rain has been predicted in most parts. Due to which people can get relief from the humid heat. According to the Meteorological Department, due to rain in the next two days, the maximum temperature of the state may drop by 4-6 degrees.
