If you are leaving office then avoid going on these routes, rain alert in Delhi-NCR in next few hours

The traffic system in Delhi-NCR collapsed due to sudden change in weather on Tuesday (7th July) evening. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of heavy rain, thunder and lightning and winds blowing at a speed of 30-40 km per hour for the next few hours. As soon as the rain started, there was a jam of about 10 kilometers long on the Gurugram-Delhi Expressway, while vehicles were seen crawling on many major routes including Dhaula Kuan, ITO, Ashram Chowk, Ring Road, Minto Bridge Underpass and Sarhaul Border.

Many underpasses are likely to be affected due to waterlogging, which may further worsen the traffic. The administration has appealed to the people to avoid unnecessary travel, not to take vehicles on waterlogged roads and adopt safe alternative routes. Long lines of vehicles are being seen at some places, due to which people may take more time than usual to reach home.

Delhi News: New cooperative policy will come in Delhi, there will be a big change in services from banking to transportation.

You will get relief if you go through these paths.

To reduce the traffic pressure, Barapula Flyover, Mayur Vihar Link Road, Akshardham Route and Peripheral Expressway can be a better option for those going towards outer Delhi. However, before leaving, be sure to check live traffic updates, because the situation can change rapidly with the weather.

Keep these things in mind while traveling

During rain, control the speed of your vehicle and drive with headlights on. Do not take the risk of passing through waterlogged underpasses or roads. Avoid stopping under trees and electric poles due to the possibility of strong wind and lightning. If there is no urgent work then it may be wise to wait for some time.
