Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has invited applications for a total of 734 posts of male and female constables. Interested candidates can apply online from today. Applications will be accepted only through Online Recruitment Application (ORA) portal. According to the recruitment program released by the Commission, the last date of application has been fixed as August 6, 2026 at 11:59 pm.
In this recruitment drive, 491 posts have been earmarked for male constables and 243 posts for female constables. Selected candidates will be appointed in Himachal Pradesh Police Department. To apply for recruitment, it is mandatory for the candidate to have passed 10th and 12th from a recognized board. Candidates availing the benefit of reservation of Himachal Pradesh will also have to produce bonafide Himachali certificate. All educational qualifications must be completed by the prescribed cutoff date.

The age of general and EWS category candidates should be between 18 to 25 years. Whereas for SC, ST and OBC category candidates, the maximum age has been fixed at 28 years. Home Guard candidates up to 29 years can apply. Reserved category will also get additional age relaxation as per government rules.
The selection process will be in several stages
The recruitment process will not be limited to written examination only. First of all the candidates have to pass the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). After this there will be written examination, document verification and medical examination. Only the candidates who are successful in all the stages will be finalized.

Physical Examination Standards
- Male candidates will have to complete the 1500 meter race in 5 minutes 30 seconds. Apart from this, the standards of 100 meter race 14 seconds, 1.35 meter high jump and 4 meter long jump will also have to be fulfilled.
- For female candidates, the target of 800 meter race 3 minutes 45 seconds, 100 meter race 17 seconds, 1.10 meter high jump and 3 meter long jump has been set.
You will get this much salary
Selected candidates will get salary ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 64,000 per month under Level-3 pay scale. Apart from this, Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Medical Allowance and other government facilities will also be given.
How much is the application fee?
The application fee for all categories of candidates has been fixed at Rs 600. Fee can be paid through debit card, credit card, UPI or other online means.

Candidates must first complete One Time Registration (OTR) by visiting the ORA portal of HPPSC. After this, login and fill the application form, upload the required documents, pay the fee online and submit the form.
