At present, the answer to whether Rahul Dravid will become the new coach of England’s Test team or not is growing in the pride of the future. However, he is said to be at the forefront in the race to become a coach.
After Brendon McCullum stepped down from the post of coach of the Test team, the England Cricket Board is busy searching for a new coach. Meanwhile, The Telegraph’s report has claimed that Rahul Dravid’s name is also included among the contenders who are being seriously considered. Along with him, experienced names like Andy Flower and Richard Dowson are also in discussion.

According to the report, Dravid is being considered a strong candidate because of his long coaching experience and ability to prepare players. Under his guidance, India played the final of the 2023 World Test Championship. After this the team also won the 2024 T20 World Cup. He has also played a big role in promoting young players in Indian cricket.
However, the report also says that Rahul Dravid is not interested in doing full time coaching at present. It is believed that if he gets a role in which he gets a chance to spend more time with his family, then he can consider it. For this reason, the England Cricket Board can take a decision keeping in mind his preferences.
Apart from Rahul Dravid, Andy Flower is also considered a strong contender. Flower has previously been the Test coach of England and during his tenure the team reached number one in the Test rankings. Apart from this, names like Richard Dowson, Mike Hesson, Kumar Sangakkara, Andrew Flintoff and Justin Langer are also being discussed.
Now everyone’s eyes are on the next decision of the England Cricket Board. If Rahul Dravid accepts this responsibility then it will be considered one of the biggest coaching appointments in international cricket.
