Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has given a strong reaction to a Reuters report regarding the ongoing trade talks between India and America. He has called this report completely false, baseless and misleading the people. Reuters had claimed in its report that India has refused to hastily conclude a trade deal with America in recent talks.
It was said in the report that India is expecting a better and more beneficial agreement. It was also said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has gained the trust of new trading partners, reduced economic risks and also gained political benefits at the domestic level. For this reason, India is not in favor of making any hasty agreement.
Responding to a Reuters report, Piyush Goyal posted on social media platform X. He said that this news is completely false, baseless and misleading. Piyush Goyal told that when US Trade Representative (USTR) Jamieson Greer came to India in the month of June, he had a very good and positive meeting with him. He said both countries had reiterated their commitment to a trade agreement that is balanced, commercially significant and delivers real benefits to businesses, farmers, workers and consumers in both countries.

Talks happening between India and America
The Union Minister said that the teams of India and America are continuously working to achieve this target. He clarified that the talks between the two countries are moving in a positive direction and any kind of false or misleading news should not be believed.
Piyush Goyal’s statement indicates that talks are going on between India and America regarding a trade agreement and both the parties are working towards such an agreement which should be prepared keeping in mind the interests of both the countries. The proposed trade agreement between India and America has been a topic of discussion for a long time. Both the countries are in constant talks to increase cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, technology and many other areas.
