In the first ODI against England, Shubman Gill has proved why he is a great choice to become the Indian captain. A few days ago, the Indian T20 team under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer was badly defeated by England, but as soon as the ODI came, Gill used such a mind that the English batsmen collapsed.
In fact, Indian bowlers were not able to take even a single wicket in the first 12 overs. But even after the ball was 12 overs old, it was still helpful for fast bowling, that is why Gill attacked England one by one with the help of Jasprit Bumrah, Gurnoor Brar and Prasidh Krishna. The result was that five wickets of the English team fell within the next 26 balls.
Shubman Gill’s ‘masterplan’
England had scored 61 runs in the first 12 overs and the captain handed the ball to the spinner (Washington Sundar) for the first time in the 12th over. But the previous over was bowled by Shivam Dubey, who beat Jacob Bethel on the very first ball. Although a four came on that ball. But from here captain Shubman Gill got the idea that the spinners would not get much help right now, so in the 13th over he handed the ball back to Gurnoor Brar, who had given away 26 runs in his first 2 overs. Brar did not disappoint Gill and dismissed Jacob Bethel and Ben Duckett in the same over.
Seeing the increasing pressure on the England batsmen, the captain brought back Jasprit Bumrah in the very next over. When Bumrah came back, he dismissed the most dangerous batsman Harry Brook on the very first ball, who could score only one run. No wicket came in the next 2 overs, but the English batting was under complete pressure.
Gill made a move
Captain Gill’s bet on Bumrah and Gurnoor Brar proved correct. Then in the 17th over, Prasidh Krishna came back, who had worked almost from the beginning to beat the batsmen by holding a tappa. Krishna finally got success in the 17th over, when he got Jos Buttler caught by Gurnoor Brar. In the same over he dismissed Sam Curran.

Shreyas Iyer should learn a lesson
It is not hidden from anyone that Shreyas Iyer took many wrong decisions during the T20 series. In the second T20, England had to score 49 runs in the last 4 overs. Iyer handed the 17th over to spinner Ravi Bishnoi, who gave away 29 runs in the over. Whereas at that time Harshit Rana had 2 overs, Arshdeep Singh also had one over left. Iyer took wrong decisions in the entire series regarding bowling changes.
