Axar Patel ICC ODI All-Rounder Rankings: The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the latest rankings on Wednesday (July 15), in which Indian all-rounder Akshar Patel was seen making a quantum leap. Akshar had performed brilliantly with ball and bat in the first ODI played against England last Tuesday, for which he was chosen ‘Player of the Match’. With this, Akshar became the only Indian to make it to the top-10 of the ODI all-rounder rankings.
In the ODI against England, Akshar bowled first and took the maximum of 4 wickets. During this, he spent 62 runs in 9.5 overs. After this, Akshar, who came to bat at number seven, played an unbeaten inning of 57 runs in 52 balls with the help of 5 fours and 1 six. This innings came from Akshar’s bat when Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma had flopped and were out. Shubman Gill, who was batting well, retired and returned to the pavilion after getting hurt. After this he played the match-winning innings for the team.
Big jump in ranking, only Indian in top-10
Akshar jumped three places in the ODI all-round rankings. Now he has come to 9th place. His rating is 213. Akshar Patel appears to be the only Indian in the top-10 in the rankings. Here Azmatullah Omarzai of Afghanistan is at the top with 316 rating. Mehdi Hasan Miraj of Bangladesh is at second place with 260 rating. Players from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Scotland and India are present in the top-10.
Akshar Patel’s international career
Akshar is a player who plays all three formats for India. So far, he has played 15 Tests, 72 ODIs and 101 T20 International matches in his international career. In the test he scored 688 runs and took 57 wickets. Scored 915 runs in ODI and took 79 wickets in his account. In the remaining T20 International, he scored 750 runs with his bat and took 101 wickets while bowling.
