Activist Sonam Wangchuk is on fast at Jantar Mantar. Wednesday (July 15) is the 18th day of his hunger strike. Meanwhile, Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Deepke has appealed to Sonam Wangchuk’s supporters across the country to go on a mass hunger strike on July 16.
Deepke said, ‘I appeal to all the supporters of Sonam Wangchuk across the country that tomorrow (July 16), there should be a one-day mass hunger strike in the entire country. Those who go on hunger strike will post the photo of their empty plate on Instagram. Cockroach Janata Party’s ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar against alleged irregularities in the ‘NEET’ examination has entered its 26th day.

Abhijeet Deepke targeted the government
Abhijit Deepke described the government as ‘cruel’ for not talking to the protesters. Deepke wrote on ‘X’, ‘It is the 18th day of Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike. The man who decided to risk his life to demand justice for students who committed suicide has received only silence from the government. The government is not only avoiding accountability, it is also cruel.
Wangchuk’s health update?
According to the medical bulletin issued by COSPA, Wangchuk is still ‘very weak’ and is under constant health monitoring. Wangchuk’s weight has come down to 57.15 kg. His weight has decreased by 400 grams in the last 24 hours. Since the beginning of the hunger strike, his total weight has reduced by 8.9 kg. According to the medical bulletin, his blood pressure was recorded at 105/76, blood sugar level at 80 mg/dl and oxygen level at 97 percent.
These leaders including Chandrashekhar Azad reached CJP protest
Bhim Army chief and Nagina MP Chandrashekhar Azad, SP MPs Mohibullah Nadvi and Ajendra Singh Lodhi, TMC’s Rajya Sabha member Dola Sen, Congress’s Lok Sabha member Prashant Yadavrao Padole and CPI’s Rajya Sabha member Sandosh Kumar reached Jantar Mantar and expressed their support for the movement. According to CJP, the MPs assured the protesters that their issues will be raised vigorously in the monsoon session of Parliament and the all-party meeting to be held on July 19.
