Indian coach’s big statement on Rohit Sharma before the last ODI, he said such a big thing

On Friday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had rejected the rumors of Rohit Sharma’s retirement. A day after that, Team India’s bowling coach Morne Morkel has expressed full confidence in ‘Hitman’ that he will be able to return to form. Rohit Sharma has been able to score only 37 runs in the first 2 innings of the series against England.

Rohit Sharma scored 11 runs in the first match playing 21 balls, while in the second match he scored 26 runs playing 47 balls. Apart from less runs being scored, another matter of concern is that Rohit’s strike rate in the England series is only 54. Despite this, Morne Morkel believes that Rohit will definitely do well.

Team India’s bowling coach Morne Morkel said, “Batting in front of the new ball is not easy. Rohit has a lot of experience and in the past too he has solved such problems and moved ahead. He brings patience and balance to the batting line-up.”

Rohit Sharma’s performance has been mediocre since the New Zealand series this year. In the 8 innings played in the last three series, he has so far scored only 241 runs and has scored only one half-century during this period.

Rohit Sharma is not retiring

On the speculations about Rohit Sharma’s retirement, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said that the news going on in the media is nothing more than rumours. There was no such discussion within the board that Rohit would play his last match at Lord’s. Devjit Saikia made it clear that as long as Rohit is included in the plans of Team India, he will keep playing.
