Today (Tuesday), on the second day of the monsoon session, BJP MLA Jivesh Kumar in the House questioned his own government regarding the lack of classrooms in schools. While presenting his views before the speaker, he said that the government should take a policy decision. 565 children are studying in two rooms. Are we teaching children or entertaining them?

He further said, “This is our case… there are many such schools… the Chief Minister is sitting here… this should be considered very seriously… We can make an education budget of Rs. 77 thousand crores, why can’t we buy land and build a school? What is our priority? The government should make provisions in the budget and identify such schools… The school is running in two shifts… 600-600 children are studying. Keeping this as a priority, the government should take immediate action.”

RJD asked questions regarding rooms and school

During this time in the House, RJD MLA Alok Kumar Mehta told the Speaker that buying land and building a room are two different things. Even where there is land, the number of rooms is less and the number of students is very high. He said that now wherever there is a school, there is no government land in the vicinity. We want to know whether the government wants to acquire land next to the school and build a building in the school?

Alok Mehta said, “Tughlati diktat has been happening… sometimes the district has been given the responsibility to build the building and sometimes the Bihar State Education Infrastructure has been given the responsibility to build it… so such an environment is being created that responsibility is not being established. It should be told whether the government is interested in expanding the school by acquiring rooms and land in the school or not. If not, then why?”
