Zimbabwe has scored 125 runs in the first T20 match. After winning the toss, Team India chose bowling first. Mayank Yadav shocked host Zimbabwe on the very first ball of the match. Zimbabwe’s batsmen could not stand the pace of Mayank Yadav, Ashok Sharma and Prince Yadav, the three fast bowlers.
The match started with a wicket, when Mayank Yadav dismissed Brian Bennett on the very first ball. Mayank has become the fourth Indian bowler to have taken a wicket two or more times on the first ball of a T20 innings. Before him, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya have done this thrice each, while Arshdeep Singh has taken wicket on the first ball of T20 innings on two occasions.
The new king of speed Ashok Sharma has made his international debut in this match. He did not take any wicket, but bowled tightly. He gave only 29 runs in the spell of 4 overs. Within no time, by the time the score was 64 runs, half of the Zimbabwe team had returned to the pavilion.
Meanwhile, Wesley Madhevere and Tadivanashe Marumani made a very important partnership of 57 runs and somehow they took Zimbabwe’s score beyond 100.
