Why did gold prices not come down?
There is an atmosphere of tension between America and Iran in the Middle East. Due to this, the prices of crude oil are also continuously increasing. In such a situation, investors are withdrawing money from the stock market and investing it in gold. Whenever a war-like situation arises, the demand for gold as a safe investment increases. Weak rupee is also a major reason for prices not coming down. The rupee remains weak at a record level of Rs 96.53 against the dollar. In such a situation, the import of gold has become expensive, due to which the prices remain high in the domestic market.
