Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi has expressed strong displeasure over the ongoing movement led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) against the NEET paper leak at Jantar Mantar and the police lathicharge during the Parliament march. He said that the use of force against students is extremely painful and such action can weaken the goal of a developed India.
Joshi said in his statement that young students from different parts of the country have been protesting peacefully on the streets of New Delhi for several days regarding their demands. Their concerns are genuine and must be addressed with empathy and vision. He said that this issue should not be dealt with force considering it merely a law and order problem.

He also expressed concern over the alleged police action, especially against women and girl students. He said, “I am deeply pained to see that brutal force was used on women and girls.” According to him, such incidents will take a large section of the society away from the goal of a developed India.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police has clarified that at present there is no plan to take any action to remove the students’ protest going on at Jantar Mantar. The police issued this statement after the claim of Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, in which he had expressed apprehension that the central government may take action against the protesters again.

Earlier, Arvind Kejriwal had posted on X and claimed that instructions have been given to close all the shops in Connaught Place by 6:30 pm, security arrangements have been increased and ambulances have been deployed. He had raised the question whether the Central Government was once again going to take action against the students protesting at Jantar Mantar.
On the other hand, New Delhi Traders Association (NDTA) appealed to the traders to close their establishments by 6:30 pm in view of the security arrangements and possible crowd in Connaught Place and surrounding areas. According to the association, this decision was taken after discussions with the Chairman and Vice Chairman of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). Under this, it was advised to keep the offices, shops and restaurants of the area closed for the stipulated time.
