8th Pay Commission Update: The 8th Central Pay Commission has announced two more rounds of interactions with stakeholders in New Delhi next month while continuing to discuss pay revisions and other service related benefits.
In a notice issued on July 23, the commission said it would hold one-to-one meetings with employee and pensioner organizations in Delhi on August 7 and 10. Only those employee unions, federations or organizations can participate in this, which have already submitted their memorandum, but discussions have not been held with the Commission yet. In such a situation, eligible unions and unions can apply for an appointment with the Commission till 31st July.
Process for Application
Applications will be accepted online only through NIC form available on 8th Central Pay Commission Official Portal. Applications sent in hard copy or via email will be considered invalid. Keep in mind that while filling the form, it is mandatory to enter your unique Memo ID received after memorandum submission. The Commission said that information about the place and time of the meeting will be given separately.
Which issues will be discussed?
During the two-day meeting held in Delhi, organizations related to government employees and pensioners will raise several issues related to pay and service conditions-
- During this time there will be talk of increasing the minimum basic pay.
- There will be direct talks on deciding the new fitment factor.
- Many other benefits like allowances, promotion and career progression will also be discussed.
The commission said the meetings in August are a part of the ongoing dialogue process and more meetings will be held in Delhi as well as other states and union territories in the coming months. Employees organizations outside Delhi-NCR area can take time for meeting in their state or union territory or at a nearby place.
