On Monday (July 27, 2026), the 48th day of PoK insurgency in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), two lakh people gathered in Rawalakot from different parts, including the protesters sitting in the Idgah ground of Rawalakot since June 9, 2026, started marching towards the capital Muzaffarabad at 4 pm, as talks with the Pakistani government failed and their demands were not met. At the same time, the group coming from other cities to gather towards Rawalakot, as soon as it reached Chinar Chowk, one and a half kilometers before the Idgah ground, Pakistani Rangers and FC personnel started firing on the protesters.
Along with this, while on one side the Pakistani Rangers and FC personnel were firing on the unarmed protesters of POK, on the other side the Punjab Police and POK Police personnel were firing tear gas shells. Similarly, as soon as the group of two lakh people coming out of Idgah ground moved a few meters forward, indiscriminate firing was started on it too. For about one and a half hours, intermittently, Pakistani Rangers and FC fired on the protesters with AK-47 bullets and tear gas shells were released, in which 11 people have been confirmed dead till 8.30 pm. Along with this, the figure is expected to increase further.
Munir’s army’s brutality seen in Muzaffarabad

After the firing, all the protesters have again gathered at the Eidgah ground in Rawalakot. Internet is closed in the entire PoK since June 5 and so far more than 85 people have lost their lives in the firing that has been going on since June. At the same time, it has been confirmed so far that more than 38 people have been seriously injured in the shooting that took place on Monday.
