‘Supreme Court’s conditions are not acceptable’, CJP enraged, ultimatum to government

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) said on Tuesday that the Supreme Court’s interim order has allowed authorities to continue investigating the FIRs registered during the protests. CJP says that this order is contrary to the assurances of talks with the government, which ended the protests at Jantar Mantar.

CJP’s chief spokesperson Saurav Das said that in the talks held with the government, it was said that the FIRs registered against the protesters would be withdrawn. Das said in an interview, “The Supreme Court has now said that the FIRs that have already been registered will not be withdrawn. There was no such thing in our conversation with the government.” He said, “We had different understandings with the government and we hope that it will fulfill the assurances given to us. The conditions being imposed by the Supreme Court are not acceptable to us.”

Saurav Das posted on X and said that the Supreme Court should not be politicized for the benefit of the government and its orders should not be used to target the real protesters. Das said, “The Supreme Court cannot be politicized for the benefit of the government. Its orders cannot be used as a weapon to achieve those benefits. A firm promise was made to the country. It should be honored and all FIRs should be withdrawn.”

‘Government should take action through legal processes’
He said that if criminals are found among the protesters, the police should take action through legal processes instead of using FIR to target others. He said, “If the criminals were roaming freely then the police should apply for cancellation of bail in their old cases. They should also explain how they were roaming so freely in the society, but the government cannot use this excuse to register an FIR so that the real protesters can be targeted later.”

Das said that the youth will not accept such action and the CJP will continue to support the protesters joining the movement. He said that the Supreme Court order should be seen in addition to the demands of the CJP. He has asked the government to fulfill the promises made to the protesters.
