Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is on a visit to America. Here on Tuesday he met American senators and placed the demand for anti-ballistic missiles for the war against Russia. During this he told that Ukraine is winning the war against Russia. Finland’s President was also present with Zelensky
Finland’s President Alexander Stubb was also present along with Zelensky in this meeting which lasted for about half an hour. Both the leaders were in Washington to attend the memorial service of Lindsey Graham, US senator and close to Trump. Let us tell you that Lindsey Graham had been advocating for imposing sanctions against Russia and even before his sudden death earlier this month, he had obtained the support of President Trump by talking to the White House.
Ukraine needs anti-ballistic missiles: Zelensky
Zelensky has long said that Ukraine needs an air defense system to counter Russian ballistic missiles. He recently said in an interview to Sky News, ‘With Ukraine’s domestic production, we can shoot down drones and other things, but we cannot shoot down ballistic missiles.’
The Ukrainian President posted on X and said that today we had a meeting with representatives of both parties in the Senate. More than 60 senators were present in it. He wrote, ‘Thank you for this support, for your praise of the work done by our troops on the front lines and Ukraine’s ability to respond to Russia’s attacks. We talked about many issues, the most important of which was anti-ballistic defense. Thank you for your willingness to help.

He said, ‘It is an important thing that today, as we bid farewell to Senator Lindsey Graham, the Senate voted on the bill imposing sanctions on Russia, on which he had worked very hard. It was an honor to be there when the votes were counted – 86 senators supported the bill. This is the first step towards implementing Lindsay’s plans, and certainly a step towards peace. It is important that this approach works.
Zelensky also had a meeting with Trump
According to ‘The Hill’, Zelensky also held a meeting with Trump on Tuesday, in which he put forth the demand for the Patriot air defense system.
