IIT Kanpur Website Hacked by Student News: Every year lakhs of students across the country dream of taking admission in big and prestigious institutes like IITs and also work hard for it. Meanwhile, a case related to IIT Kanpur came to light, in which a student, angry at not getting admission, hacked the website of the institute to show his cyber security skills. After the matter came to light, the institute decided to test the technical ability of the student instead of taking legal action.
When I did not get admission in IIT Kanpur, the website was hacked.
According to reports, a student had applied for admission to the new B.Tech Cyber Security program of IIT Kanpur. The student claims that he completed the application process, deposited the prescribed fees, uploaded all the required documents and also provided proof of his cyber security skills. Even after this he was not selected. After this he hacked the website of IIT Kanpur and left the message on it that Site is Hacked, All I Need is Just a Fair Chance. Not only this, he also shared its screenshots on social media platforms X and Reddit and said that his aim was not to cause any harm, but to prove his technical ability.
Student could not prove himself in hackathon
Director of IIT Kanpur, Prof. According to Manindra Aggarwal, in this admission process, students were given an opportunity to showcase their talent through hackathon, but the concerned student could not prove himself in that stage. After this, he tried to show his cyber security skills by breaking into the website.

First preparation of FIR, then the institute’s decision changed
Initially, the institute was considering filing an FIR against the student. However, it was later decided that its claims and technical capability should be investigated first. For this reason, instead of taking immediate legal action, it was decided to test his skills.

Pro. Manindra Aggarwal said that the admission process for the current academic session has been completed, hence it is not possible to give admission to the students this year. However, the institute will properly test his technical ability by calling him to IIT Kanpur. If he proves his eligibility then he will be considered for internship at C3iHub.
