Sachin Tendulkar Board Room: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named Sachin Tendulkar in its headquarters in Mumbai. It is named ‘SRT 100’, which is a symbol of Tendulkar’s incomparable contribution to Indian cricket. This room has been inaugurated by Sachin Tendulkar himself. The BCCI has also shared a video on social media, in which Sachin Tendulkar thanked BCCI Chairman Roger Binny, Secretary Devjit Saikia and Vice President Rajiv Shukla and other officials while inaugurating the room.
Sachin Tendulkar’s connection to 1983 World Cup
Sachin Tendulkar said during this time that India’s 1983 World Cup victory was inspired to become a cricketer. Tendulkar also revealed that he is watching the 1983 World Cup Trophy for the first time. Sachin Tendulkar told that being an entire room in his name is really a touching thing.
Sachin Tendulkar also remembered the year 1989, when he took the first step in international cricket. He said, “I used to have a small room in front of the Cricket Club of India. I still remember which used to be the office of BCCI in those days, the same year I went on a tour of Pakistan. Walking from there to reach this point today, it is really a matter of pride.”
What is the meaning of ‘SRT 100’?
The room which is named Sachin Tendulkar in BCCI headquarters will be identified with ‘SRT 100’. Actually, ‘SRT’ means Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, which is his full name. At the same time, the number of ‘100’ is showing 100 centuries in international cricket by Sachin Tendulkar. He scored 51 centuries in Tests and 49 centuries in ODI career.
