The top National Security Officers of Donald Trump Administration had planned military attacks against the Huti Group of Yemen and discussed it on a commercial messaging service. Now the chat of this plan has been leaked, which may increase the difficulties of President Donald Trump. According to many news reports, the officials have also confirmed this discussion.
How did you leak chat?
This discussion lasted for several days and the complete information about the attack, the use of weapons and time was talked about. Jeffrey Goldberg, editor of The Atlantic magazine, was also accidentally added to the group. Officials doing these discussions used a safe messaging service named Signal. It included Vice-President JD Vance, Defense Secretary PT Hegseth, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, CIA Director John Radcliffe and National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard. A person called MAR is believed to be Foreign Secretary Marco Rubio.

When asked about the discussion, President Trump said, “I don’t know anything about it. I am not a very big fan of Atlantic.” National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes confirmed the authenticity of the discussions published by The Atlantic. He said, “So far, the news of the message thread that has come, seems to be true. We are seeing how a number has been added to it.” He added, “This thread shows that there was a deep and well-planned coordination on the policy between the big officials. The continuous success of the Huti operation suggests that our soldiers or national security were not in danger.”
The first American attack against the huts by the Trump administration began on 15 March, when Huti rebels threatened to resume the attack against Israel over Gaza’s blockade. These attacks continued with more in the weekend and continued till Monday.
Huti group targeted ships
The Huti Group has targeted around 100 trading ships in the water area of West Asia, Gulf of Aden, Bab al-Mandeb Strait and Arabian Sea since November 2023. These attacks started when Israel responded to Hamas’s October 7 terrorist attacks.
