Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said on Wednesday (June 4, 2025) that there is very little possibility of starting military conflict between New Delhi and Islamabad. However, he also said that Pakistan will give a befitting reply in any such situation (military conflict).
Ishaq Dar made this comment in response to a question at a press conference here. This press conference was organized to express the media to the media Shahbaz Sharif’s recent visit to Turki, Iran, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan and after the Pahalgam attack, to express the leadership of the countries concerned for cooperating in the struggle with India."Text-Align: justify;"> When asked about the possibility of fresh struggle with India, Ishaq Dar said that he cannot guess the future, but the possibility of any such situation is very less. Ishaq Dar said, ‘The struggle-disorder remains intact and both sides have implemented all the steps related to the return of the soldiers. So, in my opinion (there is no fear of fresh struggle). However, he also said, ‘If India resorts to military struggle, then we will give a befitting reply to it.’
Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan is ready for talks with India, but is not desperate for it. He said that Pakistan wants a holistic talk, which includes other issues including Indus Water Treaty (IWT) along with terrorism. Ishaq Dar claimed that IWT cannot be postponed.
After the terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, India took other steps including postponing the Indus Water Treaty. The Indus Water Treaty was signed in 1960 to resolve the water dispute between India and Pakistan and share the water of six main rivers of the Indus Basin.
Ishaq Dar Pahalgam Repeat a fair investigation into the attack, which led to a recent military struggle between Pakistan and India. He claimed that Pakistan’s military action was appreciated and its diplomatic efforts were also praised internationally. The minister also appreciated the role played by America, Britain, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Iran and other countries in restoring peace during the struggle.
Ishaq Dar told that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will travel to Saudi Arabia in the next 24 hours to thank Saudi leadership for playing a positive role during tension with India. Referring to Shahbaz Sharif’s recent visit to four countries, Ishaq Dar said that the Pak PM traveled to these countries for expressing gratitude for the solidarity expressed by Turki, Iran, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan during the conflict with India."Text-Align: justify;"> Ishaq Dar also praised diplomatic efforts made under the leadership of former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. He said, “These efforts received international praise due to his clarity.”
