Government seeking ransom in lieu of goods from traders
According to the information, the traders of Gilgit Baltistan demand that the goods that traders imported from China have been lying on the Pakistani port for the last 6 months and the Pakistani government is not giving up it and is demanding additional duty from the traders instead.
In the ongoing dharna led by Pak-China Traders Action Committee, traders accused the Pakistani government of exploiting the traders of Gilgit Baltistan province and said that the government of Pakistan was discriminating against the traders of Gilgit Baltistan.
On the other hand, the dharna of the traders is also getting support from the opposition political parties of Gilgit Baltistan and the MLAs of Gilgit Baltistan are also going on the dharna and are calling on the fight for rights and rights against the government of Pakistan.
Gilgit Baltistan MLA staged a sit -in with traders and teachers
Javed Ali Manwa, MLA from PoK’s Gilgit Baltistan province, said, “While traders are standing on the streets day and night for their demands, the teachers of Gilgit Baltistan are also sitting on a dharna against the Pakistan government and shouting slogans.”
He said, “In fact, the Pakistani court had ordered promoting teachers of government schools in Gilgit Baltistan, but despite the court order, the government of Pakistan is not promoting and stuck in the Gilgit Baltistan teachers. In such a situation, Gilgit Baltistan teachers have been sitting on the roads for more than 1 week and have been accused of discrimination against Gilgit Baltistan.”
