WTC Final 2025: Every cricketer dreams that he can play on Lord’s ground one day and if this opportunity is to play the final of the World Test Championship, then it will be icing on the cake. Losing this opportunity for any Khudi can be heartbreaking. In such a situation, one such name has been left out of Australia’s final playing XI, which had argued with Virat Kohli in the last series played against India in 2024. Not only this, this player caught everyone’s attention by batting brilliantly against a deadly bowler like Jasprit Bumrah. This player is Sam Constas of Australia.
Sam Contas is the same player who appeared on the Melbourne pitch in the Boxing Day Test and got entangled in a sharp debate with a legend like Virat Kohli. After this, in the Sydney Test, he batted against Indian bowlers like Bumrah, famous Krishna and Akashdeep in an aggressive manner. However, in view of Sam Contas’ experience of just two Test matches, the team management has decided to keep him out of the playing XI for the WTC final to be held at Lord’s. In his place, Marnas Labushen has been given the responsibility of opening.
Bolland is out due to Hazlewood’s return
Australia has announced its playing 11 just before the WTC final against South Africa. The opening pair Osman Khwaja and Marnas Labushen will land for Australia, while Cameron Green will be seen batting at number 3, who had to be out of the team for the last 16 months due to a back injury.
Talking about bowling, the biggest change in the team is about Scott Bolland. Bolland, the second most successful bowler with 21 wickets in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, has been dropped from the team as Josh Hazlewood is fully fit and returning to the team. The WTC final against India was not played in 2023 due to injury to Hazelvupad Kalf. Hazelwood has proved not only his fitness but also his form for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2025 with 22 wickets in 12 matches. He himself said that last time he could not play the finals due to injury, but this time he is fully ready and is bowling the best of his career.
