Los Angeles Knight Riders have won the title of Major League Cricket 2026. The team defeated Washington Freedom by 1 run in the final. Sunil Narine bowled well while defending 164 runs, he finished his spell in 13 overs. Narine took 3 wickets for 13 runs in 4 overs. In the 14th over, Jason Holder took 2 important wickets for just 4 runs, then it seemed that Knight Riders would easily win the match but Obus Pienaar’s brilliant innings kept the match exciting till the last ball.
Ali Khan bowled the 19th over for Knight Riders, in which 15 runs came. Even in the 18th over, 15 runs were scored, which made the match exciting in the last over. 14 runs were needed to win from 6 balls, Washington Freedom had 4 wickets left and Obus Pienaar was on strike after scoring 47 runs. van Schalkwyk bowled the last over, whose first ball hit a six.
Now 8 runs were needed from 5 balls, on the second ball van Schalkwyk turned the tables by taking the wicket of Obus Pienaar. He also dismissed the new batsman Holland on the very next ball. Ferguson hit a four on the fourth ball, but could score only 1 run on the next ball.

Milantha got the last ball, he could have won with a big boundary and could have drawn by taking 2 runs. He could not hit the boundary, but completed the first run, was run out while attempting the second run and Los Angeles Knight Riders won the title match by 1 run.

Earlier, Sunil Narine had bowled brilliantly in the beginning, he gave only 13 runs in 4 overs and took 3 important wickets. Captain Jason Holder also took 3 wickets. Ali Khan and Andre Russell did not get any wickets, Shadle van Schalkwyk took 2 wickets but he also proved to be very expensive. He gave away 50 runs in 4 overs.
Sunil Narine was adjudged Player of the Match and Best Player of Major League Cricket 2026. Earlier, Los Angeles Knight Riders, batting first, had scored 164 runs. Their openers Colin Munro (40) and Andre Fletcher (47) gave a great start, both of them made a partnership of 66 runs for the first wicket.
