Srinagar Severe Heat Warning: The government of Jammu and Kashmir is considering hurrying summer holidays in schools as the heat outbreak has been continuing in the area for the last one week and the temperature has been recorded higher than normal. Outbreak of heat for the next 72 hours
The Meteorological Office in Srinagar has issued an alert in the area and said that the heat outbreak will continue for the next 72 hours and it is expected to receive very little rainfall by June 20, which has increased the concerns of the people.
According to the Meteorological Office, the maximum daytime temperature in most parts of Kashmir division has been higher than normal (4-7 ° C) and in most parts of Jammu division (4-6 ° C) and the heat is not going to get relief from the heat for at least the next three days.
Meteorological Department official Barmpal in Kashmir said, “The heat outbreak will continue in the Kashmir Valley and Jammu for the next three days, after which there may be rain for some time on the 15th, but overall the weather will remain dry.”
Highest temperature
The maximum maximum temperature was recorded at 43.0 degrees Celsius in Muzaffarabad, Pakistan in Kashmir and 46.3 degrees Celsius in Mirpur of PoK in Jammu division.
Jammu was recorded at 44.4 degrees Celsius on the hottest day of this season, which is 5.6 ° C above normal. Other parts of the Jammu region also recorded high temperatures- Katra recorded 40.6 degrees Celsius, 33.6 ° C in Banihal, 33.3 ° C in Batote and 33.4 ° C in Bhadarwah, which is several degrees above the seasonal average.
The effect of heat was also seen in the Kashmir Valley. The temperature in the summer capital Srinagar reached 33.5 degrees Celsius, which is much higher than normal. The temperature in Qazigund was 7.3 degrees Celsius above normal, while Pahalgam, Kupwara, Kokranag and even Gulmarg recorded unusually high temperatures, which are commonly known for their cold weather.
Similarly, in most parts of Kashmir division, the minimum night temperature was higher than normal (2-5 ° C) and in many parts of Jammu division was more than normal (2-5 ° C). The lowest minimum temperature was at Pahalgam (10.6 ° C) of Kashmir division and Banihal (15.8 ° C) in Jammu.

Local authorities have urged the residents to stay indoors, avoid external activities and stay hydrated. Health advice has been issued to the elderly, children and people already struggling with health problems to be particularly careful.
Encouraged by the forecasts of Heatwave, Jammu and Kashmir Health and Education Minister Sakina Itu said on Wednesday that the government is monitoring the current weather situation and according to the situation, the schools will decide to get a summer vacation early.
