Vijay rupani news: The aircraft going to London on Thursday afternoon in Meghani Nagar area near Ahmedabad Airport crashed a few moments after flying. The aircraft had 242 people, including 10 members of the crew. It is feared that the Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former CM of Gujarat Vijay Rupani were also riding in this aircraft. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said in a statement that the Air India aircraft, who crashed in the residential area near Ahmedabad Airport, had 232 passengers and 10 crew members. The Boeing aircraft was seen coming down immediately after flying and crashed in the Meghani Nagar area near the airport at around 2 pm. Immediately after the accident, a large bubble of black smoke was seen in the area.

Government sources said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Home Minister Amit Shah and Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu. The Prime Minister has asked both of them to visit Ahmedabad and provide immediate help to all the people affected by this accident. Air India posted a post on ‘X’ and said, ‘Ahmedabad-London Gatwick’s flight number AI 171 crashed on 12 June 2025 today. Police said that the aircraft crashed in Meghaninagar area of ​​Ahmedabad. An official said that many injured have been taken to the civil hospital in the city. Deputy Commissioner of Police Kanan Desai said, “We are collecting details about the casualties.” Fire fighting officer Jayesh Khadia said that firefighters have been sent to the spot to extinguish the fire.
