The cricket team of India and Pakistan has not been playing bilateral series for many years, only the ICC tournament between the two countries. Pakistan’s players play in many league cricket in the world, while Indian active players do not play in any other league other than IPL. But Yorkshire County Cricket Club has included a Pakistani player in his club after Rituraj Gaikwad.
Yorkshire County Cricket Club officially made an official announcement to include Rituraj Gaikwad in the club on 10 June 2025. The 28 -year -old Indian cricketer also expressed happiness over joining the team, saying, “I am excited to join the Yorkshire Club. It has always been my goal to gain experience here. There is no one bigger than this club in England. I know how important my performance here will be here.”
Pakistan’s Abdullah Shafiq also joins Yorkshire Club
A week after Rituraj Gaikwad was included in the team, Yorkshire County Cricket Club has announced to include Pakistan batsman Abdulla Shafiq in the team. The 25 -year -old Pakistani batsman will arrive in England next week and will be available for 2 important matches in the Roths County Championships. After this, he will also play in the last 4 matches of the group stage of T20 blasts. So will Rituraj Gaikwad of India play together and Abdullah Shafiq of Pakistan?
Will Rituraj Gaikwad and Abdullah Shafiq play together?
Rituraj will play in Gaikwad County Championship Division 1, he will be available for 5 matches of the county championship. He will also play in the ODI cup, which will be played from 5 August to 20 September. Both these players from India and Pakistan will not be seen playing together, both have been included in the club for different matches.
Expressing happiness over joining the Yorkshire Club, Abdullah said, “I am keen to join the team before the match against Nottinghamshire.”
Talking about Rituraj Gaikwad’s cricket career, he has played 6 ODIs and 23 T20 matches for India, in which 115 and 633 runs respectively. Apart from this, he has scored 2632 runs in 38 first class matches and 4324 runs in 86 List A matches. He has 4996 runs in 150 T20s.
