Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the result of class 10th second board exam (Second Board Exam 2026). The wait of more than 6.8 lakh students who appeared in the examination is now completely over. Along with the announcement of the results, the board has also activated the link to download the scorecard. Students can now officially check their results online.
Two examinations were conducted under the new education policy.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially declared the result of class 10th second board examination on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Under the New Education Policy 2020, for the first time this year, students were given a historic opportunity to take the board exams twice in the same academic session. As per the policy of the Board, for preparing the final result of the students, their better performance i.e. ‘best score’ in both the examinations (Main and Second Examination) has been considered as the basis. Lakhs of students who appeared in the examination can now check their results online by visiting the official result portal of DigiLocker.
59.95% students improved their marks in the improvement exam.
According to the data released by CBSE, a total of 6,64,027 students had registered for the second board examination this year, out of which 6,63,777 students appeared in the examination. Of these, there were 5,13,955 students who had given the exam again to improve their score after getting less marks in the main examination. This experiment was quite successful for the board, because 3,08,095 students have registered a significant improvement in their marks this time compared to the main examination.
There was also improvement in the percentage passed by compartment category.
This time a total of 1,49,822 students appeared in the compartment examination conducted along with the second board examination, out of which 78,503 students have achieved success. This year the overall pass percentage of compartment category has been recorded at 52.40 percent, which is much better than last year’s 48.68 percent. Combining the data of both the main examination and this second board examination, the final and overall pass percentage of class 10th for the year 2026 has reached an impressive 96.78 percent.
This is how digital documents will be available from DigiLocker and schools
CBSE has clarified that the results and digital academic documents of the students will be sent to all the affiliated schools on their registered email IDs. Students of CBSE schools located abroad can also get their results and certificates through DigiLocker.
Regular Students: Original marksheets and passing certificates of students going to school regularly will be distributed from their respective schools only.
Private Students: Private candidates will be provided with their digital documents directly on DigiLocker.
Delhi Students: Private students falling under Delhi East and Delhi West regional offices can also collect documents from their allotted examination center apart from DigiLocker.
