In fact, in an interview to Mashable, Aamir Khan revealed that Abhishek Bachchan’s onscreen wife Rimi Sen alias Sweety Dixit was about to return to Dhoom 3. However, producer Aditya Chopra and writer-director Vijay Krishna Acharya later changed their mind. Aamir revealed, “Dhoom 3 which was not there, she could have been better. Aamir told about Sweety’s character in the film
Aamir further told that Sweety’s character in the film was Upset because her husband, who is an officer in Mumbai Police, had no time for her and he also missed Karva Chauth and her birthday of her life. The actor told about the character of Sweety, saying, “He is very angry. And the beauty with which Abhishek pats him and says, ‘Give me a chance, and what we have not gone in the honeymoon till date, after marriage, today I will take you to the first honeymoon’.”
But then Abhishek alias Jai gets a message that he has to go to Chicago for a new case, which makes him dilemma. Before leaving for his honeymoon at the airport, Jai meets the police commissioner in the washroom where he is informed about the case. Aamir remembered how after interval, Jai is dropped from the case in the film. Sweety always knew that Jai was trapped in a case and she used to tell her not to come home until she caught the thief. Aamir told that this back story would help the audience emotionally connect with the character of Jai.
