Sanjeev was born in a Gujarati Brahmin family. His father Jethalal had three marriages. Sanjeev was born to his father’s third wife Shanta. After five years of marriage, Shanta gave birth to Sanjeev Kumar. Sanjeev also has two more brothers. But when Sanjeev was 11 years old, his father died.
After this, his life completely changed. After the death of Sanjeev’s father, his partner took most of his business and property. After this, Sanjeev and his family spent days in poverty. He saw so much poverty that there was no money for studying in good school. Sanjeev studied in a government school. He read Natya Shastra in school. Sanjeev was very interested in cinema. His mother sold his jewelery and got Sanjeev admitted to acting school.
After this, Sanjeev made his mark in the film world. Sanjeev started with the theater. During the theater, he got a chance to work in the film Hum Hindustani. He used to get Rs 12 per shift for this film. After this film, Sanjeev had to work very hard. For the second film, he had to stumble from rate to rate. He also signed B grade films. He but did not lose courage. He got success from the film struggle. His luck shone with the film struggle.
